APC member passes away in Jos during the presidential campaign flag-off
APC member from outside of Plateau State who traveled to Jos for the launch of the party’s presidential campaign has been confirmed deceased.
The deceased, who is thought to be a politician from his State, reportedly fell in Jos before being taken to the Our Lady of Apostles, or OLA, hospital, where his death was later determined to have occurred.
Sister Jovita Egwu, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, or CMD, claimed she couldn’t corroborate the occurrence because she hadn’t been in Jos since last week and hadn’t been back until this evening.
However, as he stated, “There is something like that, the man was brought in dead. I don’t know his identity but I suppose the State Government is handling the case. I can’t say anything for now.” Patrick Osu, the hospital’s public relations officer, verified the occurrence.
“I learned about it this evening, but I am not in a position to say anything,” continued Sylvanus Namang, State Publicity Secretary for the APC. “Perhaps you could call the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
A call put across to his known phone number was not picked up at the time of this report.
Vanguard could not confirm the identity of the deceased from official sources but it was alleged that the deceased was a lawmaker from Lagos State.
