Ogun road accident claims 4 lives.
On Thursday, four people were killed when a Toyota Sienna bus collided with a moving Sino truck from behind on the Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway.
The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) Spokesperson, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
According to Akinbiyi, the collision happened at 7:18 p.m. at Adedero, in front of the Adaranijo Filling Station, on the highway, and the vehicles were headed toward Abeokuta from the inside.
“I found out that the Toyota Sienna with the registration number AAA 307 GN was traveling toward Abeokuta when it struck the cement-making company’s truck from behind as a result of speed.
The truck, which was designated WDL 418 XA and did not have a rear light, and the smoke it was spewing prevented the driver from realizing there was a car in front of him, according to the report.
All of the victims, he claimed, were men.
The bodies were deposited in the morgue of the State Hospital, Ijaye in Abeokuta, according to a TRACE spokesperson.
He expressed sympathy to the victims’ families, cautioned motorists to drive safely, and advised operators of articulated vehicles to ensure that their vehicles received regular maintenance.
